Hello, I've finally installed Providence successfully on a *cheap* webserver.
(I was looking for such servers in Japan actually, but I couldn't find one. I'm currently using HAWKHOST standard plan.)

Now I'd like to know if there is/will be an installation profile for EAD.
I have many archival descriptions in CSV format now, and wondering if I can migrate them into CA...
I understand CA doesn't support importing from CSV (or Excel spreadsheet), but I'd like to know whether there are any sample scripts I can look at.

    Thanks in advance!

There is no profile specifically for EAD yet, but we do plan to get to it at some point. We are actively working on EAD export right now, as part of a large generalized export framework. (This code is currently in a branch, not in the trunk that you're using).

Attached is a sample script for importing delimited data from a text file. It is intended to work with the noguchi_asset_management profile. Let us know if you need further help and we'll be happy to assist.

Yes, as Seth mentioned we are working on an DACS based profile that can export easily to well-formed EAD XML. This should be rolling out over the next couple weeks!

Thank you very much for the response. I will look into the sample script and see if I can customize it to import our data (though I have little knowledge about PHP and MySQL).
I'm very glad to know that the EAD export is in process. I will wait until next release!
