MD5 Mismatch

We are getting multiple md5 mismatch errors on our media. Is there any built in utilities for generating new checksums?


  • No, you shouldn't have to generate new checksums. I'd start by trying to figure out why they're mismatched. The checksums in the database are those of the files when they were added. If the files on disk have different checksums now it means they've been modified (or corrupted) outside of CA.
  • We have had file system problems that are now resolved, the files appear to be ok, but we need the checksums to match. Is there someway we can go about this?
  • You'll have to reimport the media, or write a custom script to replace those checksums. There's no "feature" to resync checksums with files on disk as you'd never really want to do this with files in place.
